Job Description

LexPets is a distinguished dog daycare and boarding facility based in Lexington, Kentucky, known for providing a safe, caring, and enjoyable environment for pets and their owners. Established with a passion for animal welfare and customer satisfaction, LexPets stands out as a leader in the pet care industry by ensuring each dog receives personalized attention and exceptional care during their stay. The company is committed to creating a supportive workplace that values responsibility, honesty, patience, and professionalism among its team members.

LexPets is currently seeking a Student Front Desk Receptionist to join their team in a part-time capacity. This role is specifically designed for students seeking meaningful employment alongside their academic commitments, allowing them to gain valuable experience while contributing to a dynamic and friendly work environment. The position offers an hourly wage range of $10 to $12, reflecting the candidate’s skills and experience. Working approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, with required availability during afternoons, evenings, and weekends, this role offers flexible scheduling that caters to students’ varied timetables.

In this role, the front desk receptionist serves as the face of LexPets, responsible for welcoming clients, answering inquiries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining smooth office operations. The successful candidate will be someone with a friendly, outgoing, and confident personality who can multitask efficiently and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential to help manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including maintaining records, processing payments, and coordinating communication between clients and staff.

Though prior pet handling experience is a plus, LexPets offers comprehensive training to ensure all employees are equipped to meet the physical demands of the job and the specific needs of the animals in their care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, honesty, responsibility, and patience, all vital qualities for managing the fast-paced front desk environment and assisting in a facility focused on animals’ well-being.

Joining LexPets means becoming part of a community committed not only to animal care but also to employee well-being and workplace diversity. The University of Kentucky, associated with this role, values creating a tobacco and drug-free campus, promoting health and safety for all. Candidates will be subject to mandatory pre-employment screenings, including background checks and drug tests, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to a secure work environment.

This Student Front Desk Receptionist position offers an excellent opportunity for students who are enthusiastic about customer service, possess strong communication skills, and want to gain valuable experience in a pet care facility. With its supportive team environment, flexible hours, and focus on personal growth, LexPets invites motivated and dependable candidates to apply by June 8, 2026, anticipating a start date of June 1, 2026.
