Job Requirements

  • must be enrolled in the Fall 2025 term at the University of Oklahoma
  • must provide current class schedule or document stating future enrollment
  • ability to safely handle food and kitchen equipment
  • ability to perform basic math for cashiering and inventory
  • physical endurance for fast-paced kitchen work
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs
  • ability to stand and walk for long periods and adapt to varying temperatures
  • must follow university tuberculosis testing policy if hired
  • must maintain provided uniform
  • ability to work during university closings if required

Job Qualifications

  • enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma for Fall 2025 term
  • skilled in safe and sanitary food handling and kitchen equipment use
  • able to perform basic arithmetic for transactions and inventory
  • able to read and interpret menus, instructions, and communications
  • communicates effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • ability to adapt to physical demands including lifting, standing, and repetitive movements
  • customer service skills
  • willingness to assist team members and handle multi-tasking

Job Duties

  • Prepares food including meat, pork, poultry, fish following recipes and portion control standards
  • properly measures, weighs, and combines ingredients for quantity preparation
  • utilizes kitchen utensils, appliances, and industrial equipment in food preparation
  • serves food courteously with proper portion control and menu knowledge
  • loads, carries, and transports hot or cold food items to customers or serving areas safely and efficiently
  • washes, sanitizes, and stores pots, pans, and kitchen utensils
  • cleans countertops, floors, tables, and serving areas
  • assists with special events and cross-trains in other service areas such as cashiering
  • operates a cash register and follows proper payment-handling processes
