This opportunity is designed specifically for current UVU students who wish to gain hands-on experience in food service and kitchen operations while earning an hourly wage ranging from $11.61 to $21.12, depending on experience and qualifications. As a student employee, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily food preparation and service operations. Your responsibilities will include assisting with food preparation such as cutting fruits and vegetables, making sandwiches, salads, and other cold food items, stocking products, cooking, and collaborating with chefs to ensure food items are prepared correctly and served on time. In addition, you will perform cleaning duties including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, cleaning floors, and maintaining kitchen equipment to ensure a clean and safe food service environment. This role is essential in maintaining quality and efficiency within UVU's dining services, contributing to positive dining experiences for students, faculty, and staff. \n\nThe work schedule is quite flexible but expects availability mainly Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays, including day and evening shifts beginning at 7:00 am. This position requires strong teamwork skills, the ability to work independently without constant supervision, and courteous customer service, all of which are key for a smooth-running dining operation. While student positions are excluded from the full-time employee benefits package, UVU supports student employees through services aimed at student success and well-being. Job Requirements
- Must be a current UVU student
- Must have a 4-5 hour time gap every day to work Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Availability for day and evening shifts starting at 7:00 am
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and safely
- Commitment to sanitation and cleanliness standards
Job Qualifications
- Must be a current UVU student
- Knowledge of operating kitchen equipment and food service methods
- Ability to read and follow recipes
