The culture at Flanigan's promotes a balance of fun and professionalism, making it a sought-after employer for individuals passionate about the culinary arts and customer service.
The role of a Prep Cook at Flanigan's is integral to the smooth operation of the kitchen and overall restaurant efficiency. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing menu items in accordance with the company’s specific recipe manual and maintaining the kitchen's readiness throughout service periods. Your duties will include a variety of food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, breaking down ingredients, weighing, mixing, washing, storing food items, and unloading deliveries. These tasks ensure that the chefs and cooks can work efficiently, enabling timely and quality food service to customers.
Beyond food preparation, the Prep Cook plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen. This includes following all safety and sanitation policies to uphold the highest health standards and performing routine cleaning duties during and at the end of your shift. Working at Flanigan’s requires physical stamina and the ability to operate various kitchen machinery safely, such as open flame grills, stoves, and slicers. The role also demands excellent communication skills to coordinate with fellow kitchen staff and management, ensuring that food flow and ticket times are effectively managed.
This position offers a flexible shift schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holiday shifts, reflecting the dynamic nature of the restaurant industry. Flanigan’s provides competitive benefits including paid time off, health insurance options, and opportunities for advancement based on performance rather than tenure. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about culinary preparation, desire to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and aspire to grow within a respected restaurant company.
