Job Description
Lemartec, founded in 1979, is a prominent national general contractor and construction management firm. It operates within the General Building group under MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure segment. As part of MasTec, Lemartec specializes in vertical construction projects spanning industrial, aviation, power, and large commercial markets. Leveraging the extensive network of over 22,000 professionals across 400+ locations in North America and the Caribbean, Lemartec is uniquely positioned to carry out complex projects with a broad range of technical expertise. With deep roots in the construction industry and a strategic partnership network, Lemartec offers strength, scale, and financial support necessary to successfully deliver projects of varying sizes and significant complexity. The company is a subsidiary of MasTec, a Fortune 500, minority-owned firm with over 90 years shaping the industry. MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure segment generates over $4 billion in annual revenue, offering construction services across industrial, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors such as heavy civil construction, underground utilities, bridges, and commercial buildings. Lemartec prides itself on sustainability and safety as core cultural values. The company boasts a large workforce exceeding 35,000 employees and 400 offices nationwide, offering dynamic work environments and opportunities for career growth. Joining Lemartec means becoming part of one of the largest construction firms in the US with recognized rankings including #1 in Power and high rankings in domestic heavy contractors and transportation contractor categories by Engineering News-Record (ENR).
The role of Project Director at Lemartec is strategic and involves managing multiple projects across various US locations at different stages—ranging from conceptual planning to construction, and through to contract close-out. The Project Director will lead teams including senior project managers, project managers, field staff, and support personnel, while serving as the primary contact point for customers and internal stakeholders. This leadership position demands oversight of project financials, schedules, resource management, and delivery to ensure projects meet technical specifications, remain on budget, and are completed safely and on time. The Project Director plays a vital role in supporting business development activities by contributing to proposal development, pricing strategies, and preparing execution plans that expand the company’s work scope. Additionally, the role involves conducting regular reviews of project progress, adjusting plans to align with organizational goals, and fostering a high-performance team culture.
This is a 100% travel position requiring extensive travel across various states such as Pennsylvania, Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Texas, Florida, Iowa, and Wyoming, among others, as the company expands its footprint nationally. The Project Director will have autonomy in strategic management, contract negotiations, risk mitigation, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Strong leadership is essential for mentoring staff, driving continuous improvement, overseeing project documentation, and maintaining strong client relationships. The role demands sophisticated project management tools usage, financial acumen, and a high degree of professionalism and communication skill to effectively manage large-scale infrastructure projects and complex contracts. Working at Lemartec offers a unique blend of technical challenge, leadership opportunity, and involvement in impactful infrastructure development across the United States.
