Job Description

Lemartec is a distinguished national general contractor and construction management firm, established in 1979, with a prominent reputation for delivering complex and large-scale vertical construction projects across industrial, aviation, power, and commercial markets. A subsidiary within the General Building group of MasTec's Clean Energy and Infrastructure segment, Lemartec benefits from MasTec’s extensive network of over 22,000 professionals and more than 400 locations throughout North America and the Caribbean. This strategic positioning allows Lemartec to effectively serve a diversified client base, enabling the execution of some of the most challenging construction projects with technical expertise, strong financial backing, and a commitment to ethics, quality, and safety. MasTec itself is a minority-owned Fortune 500 company with over 35,000 employees nationwide, recognized for its leadership with ranked positions in Engineering News-Record for power, heavy contractors, and transportation contracting.

The company is looking to hire a Project Director, a senior leadership role crucial to managing multiple high-value projects across various US locations. This position demands a seasoned professional capable of steering projects from conceptualization through completion, inclusive of planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, testing, and prime contract close-out. The role involves overseeing multiple project teams, including senior project managers, project managers, field personnel, and support staff, ensuring coordinated efforts align with strategic goals. The Project Director acts as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, maintaining management-level relationships with all stakeholders including suppliers, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and community organizations.

This position emphasizes travel across the US, supporting infrastructure projects in many states such as Pennsylvania, Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Texas, Florida, Iowa, Wyoming, and others as the company expands. The Project Director is responsible for developing and maintaining project budgets, schedules, and performance benchmarks, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with all contractual and regulatory standards. They also lead contract negotiation efforts, set organizational structures, communicate project roles and responsibilities, and uphold Lemartec’s standards for safety and quality.

The Project Director contributes significantly to Lemartec’s business development by supporting proposal preparation, technical and pricing strategies, and presentation communications to clients. They ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest technical and safety standards. The role also includes providing mentorship and professional development for project managers and teams to foster high-performance environments that encourage continuous improvement and teamwork.

Overall, the Project Director is a pivotal figure in managing and directing strategic project operations, financial performance, client relationships, and internal practices to align with Lemartec’s goals. The role requires strong leadership, communication, negotiation, technical understanding, and financial acumen to drive projects to success and expand Lemartec’s market presence.
