Located at the Phoenix Home Office, PetSmart offers a collaborative work atmosphere where associates are encouraged to thrive through connection, support, and flexibility. The company values its culture of inclusivity and meaningful experiences, ensuring that every team member contributes to the mission of helping pet parents through accessible and timely product delivery along with overall excellence in service.
The Supply Chain team at PetSmart is integral in keeping operations smooth by managing the flow of products from vendors through distribution centers and ultimately to stores. Their focus is on efficiency and timeliness, guaranteeing that customers receive the right product at the right place and the right time. This involves continuous improvement efforts in every step of the supply chain to optimize processes and support the company’s broader business objectives.
Within this dynamic environment, the Category Manager for Indirect Sourcing plays a vital role in the procurement function by leading strategic sourcing initiatives across various indirect spend categories. This position is essential in creating cost-saving opportunities and ensuring operational success through expert negotiation, supplier evaluation, and category strategy development. The Category Manager is responsible for managing competitive sourcing events (RFx), analyzing market and spend data, and building collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to align sourcing efforts with business goals.
This is a full-time position based at the Phoenix Home Office with a hybrid work model that includes typically four days in-office and one remote flex day, promoting strong collaboration and work-life balance. Key responsibilities include leading sourcing events from start to finish, supporting category strategy formation, assessing supplier capabilities, negotiating terms to optimize value and reduce risk, and actively contributing to procurement process enhancements. The role demands strong analytical and project management skills, exceptional communication, and the ability to influence decisions at various levels of leadership.

Employees benefit from a pet-friendly workplace, on-site events, wellness facilities, quality childcare, and volunteer opportunities. This role is not only a chance to advance a career in strategic sourcing and procurement but also to be part of a company that is passionate about pets and their communities.
