The role plays a vital part in strengthening coordination between the Army and partner nations, enhancing the overall efficiency and impact of joint military exercises.

The specific position is for a Strategic Communications Planner / Professional Writer who will contribute to USAJMC's modernization efforts by offering expert support in strategic planning, communications, and exercise coordination. This role entails providing detailed analysis, assessment, and synthesis of relevant training requirements identified through the Training and Doctrine Command’s (TRADOC) Strategic Plan. The Planner will assist in the development of the USAJMC Campaign Plan (CAMPLAN), which drives the execution and optimization of Live Field Experiments (LFEs), Joint Warfighting Assessments (JWAs), Project Convergences (PCs), and Scalable Assessments and Experiments (SAEs).

In addition to strategic planning, the Planner will enable institutional learning within the broader modernization enterprise. This includes collating After Action Review data into comprehensive reports, preparing talking points, and developing strategic presentations tailored to government customers. The role requires close collaboration with USAJMC’s Operations Office and regular participation in meetings and conferences as directed.

Candidates must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Clearance, and should be prepared to work extended and irregular hours, including weekends, to support rotational experiment exercise cycles. This position may require intermittent travel up to 20% annually, primarily within the Continental United States (CONUS) but occasionally outside the continental United States (OCONUS), for missions lasting between 5 to 25 days.
