The role of the Event Coordinator at Macy's is a pivotal position within the in-store team, focusing on planning and executing events that enhance the customer shopping experience and drive engagement. Job Requirements

  • Flexibility to work retail hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift at least 25 pounds
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to support multiple stores
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and reaching above eye level
  • Comfortable using computers and technology necessary for job functions including handheld devices and cash registers

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement event strategies that align with the store's goals and brand image
  • Oversee all aspects of event planning, including concept development, logistics, sourcing vendor partnership, staffing, execution, and administrative duties of tracking of events and paperwork for both in-store and offsite events
  • Ensure operational excellence by managing event budgets, schedules, models, rentals, materials, and vendor contracts/partnerships effectively
  • Collaborate with store management and key partners to determine event sales goals and integrate events seamlessly into daily functions, maximizing efficiency and customer flow
  • Leverage clientelling tools, partnerships with local influencers to form awareness and promote events
  • Analyze event performance, providing reports on metrics, and making recommendations for improvements
  • Identify opportunities within the market calendar and external market area to enhance outreach and drive sales traffic
  • Complete tasks to support event execution, such as picking products and setting up point of sale equipment while following asset protection controls and compliance procedures
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
