The Loss Prevention Specialist role at Ross is a critical position dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment for both customers and associates. This role involves providing a visible presence at store entrances and exits to deter theft, fraud, and ensure compliance with company policies. The Specialist engages customers warmly with eye contact and smiles while proactively monitoring the sales floor for suspicious activities. Wearing a company-issued vest or required black attire, the individual demonstrates a commanding presence designed to prevent shrinkage and operational shortages. Responsibilities also include partnering closely with Store Leadership to enforce loss prevention protocols, educate associates on shortage reduction techniques, and ensure a clutter-free environment for emergency egress. Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Preferred AA degree
  • One year retail supervisory experience or similar training
  • One year loss prevention or security training preferred
  • Active Security Guard License preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with the store team
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicts effectively
  • Compliance with federal and state security position laws including background checks, physical exams, fingerprinting, and drug testing
  • Consistent punctuality and attendance
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 100% of working time
  • Ability to lift or lower objects over 25 lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, or crouch regularly

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent

  • One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred
  • One year loss prevention or security training preferred
  • Active Security Guard License preferred
