Job Description
Insomnia Cookies is a rapidly growing bakery and delivery company that has gained a cult following for its warm, delicious cookies. Founded 20 years ago by Seth Berkowitz in a college dorm room, the company has expanded to over 300 stores globally. Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Insomnia Cookies is known for its innovative bakery plus delivery concept that serves cookie lovers all day and late into the night. The company’s flagship experiential concept, "sweet-easy," reflects its commitment to a fun, engaging customer experience. Alongside its physical stores, Insomnia Cookies has developed a nationwide shipping and gifting portfolio, making its products accessible far beyond its store locations. With a culture centered on growth, innovation, and hospitality, the brand embodies its motto of "Imagining What’s Possible," striving to create exciting opportunities for both employees and customers alike.
At the Worcester, Massachusetts location, Insomnia Cookies is looking for strong management individuals who are hospitality-focused and eager to join a fun, entrepreneurial team within a rapidly expanding company. This management role offers extensive training and mentorship, professional growth opportunities, and quick advancement potential for those who demonstrate sales success and leadership skills. The position boasts a competitive base salary combined with a quarterly bonus package, making it an attractive opportunity for driven candidates. Additional perks include a $50 monthly cellphone data plan stipend, comprehensive benefits covering medical, dental, vision, and even pet insurance, as well as a 401K plan with contribution matching.
Employees in this role also enjoy two weeks of paid vacation, paid sick leave, and personal wellness days to promote a healthy work-life balance. To support continuous learning, managers will have access to the Cookie College training platform, fostering skill development and leadership growth. Beyond the standard benefits, team members appreciate free cookies and branded swag, adding fun incentives to the work environment.
This role requires an individual able to hire, coach, and develop a diverse part-time hourly staff, including Shift Leaders, Cookie Crew, and Delivery Drivers. The manager will lead the team in delivering stellar food quality, exceptional customer service, employee friendliness, and maintaining a clean store environment. A core focus is building a strong culture of excellence that prioritizes cookie quality, customer satisfaction, and sales performance while supporting personal growth for all team members. Inventory management and auditing to maintain control are also key responsibilities. Additionally, the manager will plan and execute local marketing efforts and in-store recognition programs to engage the community and motivate staff.
Candidates should possess over three years of management or leadership experience in a restaurant or retail setting, demonstrating a benevolent leadership style with a player-coach mentality which balances hands-on involvement and team empowerment. Availability to work several mid-to-late shifts later in the week, particularly from Thursday through Sunday, is essential to align with peak business hours. Familiarity with restaurant or retail business software, MS Outlook, Excel, MS Teams, and experience with Applicant Tracking Systems for hiring is necessary. While not mandatory, experience using commercial convection ovens is a plus.
Joining Insomnia Cookies means becoming part of an energetic, fast-paced company where hospitality excellence, team engagement, and sales-driven leadership are highly valued. This role embodies an exciting opportunity to contribute to a beloved consumer brand while advancing your career in a supportive, dynamic work environment.
