Job Description
Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffeehouse industry, dedicated to crafting the world’s finest coffee while creating meaningful moments of connection and joy in every community it serves. With its roots deeply embedded in quality, service, and community engagement, Starbucks has redefined the café experience, transforming it into a warm, welcoming space where customers not only enjoy premium coffee but also foster connections. As a pioneer in the specialty coffee market and a champion of corporate social responsibility, Starbucks emphasizes inclusivity, diversity, and sustainability in all aspects of its operations. With locations worldwide, Starbucks offers a unique blend of passion for coffee craftsmanship and commitment to its partners (employees), providing ample opportunities for growth, development, and meaningful careers.
The role of a coffeehouse leader at Starbucks transcends traditional managerial responsibilities. This position involves leading a dynamic team dedicated to crafting exceptional coffee experiences and nurturing a culture where every customer feels welcome and valued. As a leader, you will embody the company’s values by fostering an environment of collaboration, empowerment, and continuous learning. In this capacity, you will be expected to demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills, coaching and mentoring team partners with professional maturity, and embodying an entrepreneurial spirit within a sales-driven environment.
The coffeehouse leader role requires at least three years of experience in retail or customer service management, or an alternative background including four or more years of U.S. military service, reflecting the company’s appreciation for diverse career paths and leadership styles. It is a full-time position that demands flexibility, including working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Starbucks invests heavily in its partners’ personal and professional growth, offering industry-leading benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, disability coverage, paid parental leave, paid vacation and sick time, and a robust 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
Additionally, Starbucks supports its partners’ educational advancement through programs like the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, which offers 100% upfront tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree via Arizona State University’s online platform. Other benefits include stock participation programs, financial well-being tools, backup care, and policies aligned with adherence to state and local employment laws and regulations. Starbucks prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds and offering accommodations to those with disabilities.
In joining Starbucks as a coffeehouse leader, you will not only guide a team toward operational and customer service excellence but also create an atmosphere where quality, people, and value are the cornerstones of every interaction. This role is a unique leadership opportunity to connect with something bigger—contributing to a globally respected brand while making a lasting impact on your community and team each day.
