The University Village store in Seattle, WA seeks a dynamic Store Manager to lead a talented team in delivering exceptional customer experiences and operational excellence.

As the Store Manager at Rothy’s University Village location, you will be the heartbeat of the store, responsible for creating a seamless and memorable shopping experience while managing the day-to-day operations efficiently. In this role, you will take on multifaceted responsibilities including recruiting and developing a strong team, setting performance standards, and ensuring all service expectations are met through effective coaching and training. You will drive sales growth and operational success by managing payroll, scheduling, inventory, and store expenses prudently. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in organizing in-store events and activations that heighten brand awareness and strengthen community connections.

The position is perfect for a retail leader with 3-5 years of progressive experience in service-driven environments who is passionate about sustainable retail and delivering high-touch customer service. The role requires excellent judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, alongside strong operational expertise and the ability to lead and inspire others. Physical requirements include the ability to stand or walk an entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs, reflecting the active nature of retail management.

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours/week, including peak business days (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays), holidays, and evening and opening shifts
  • Ability to stand/walk an entire shift
  • Ability to lift, push, carry or otherwise move up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, stretch, and safely use ladders and step stools
  • Ability to uphold Rothy's Experience by following our dress code, including wearing Rothy's shoes during every shift

Job Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of progressive retail leadership experience, ideally in a service focused environment
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth
  • Strong skills in coaching, talent development, and building engaged, high-performing teams
  • Operational expertise, including scheduling, payroll, and inventory management
  • Ability to think critically and exhibit problem-solving skills
  • Good judgment on key work and core issues

Job Duties

  • Proactively recruit, hire, onboard and develop a strong store team
  • Develop team members through in-the-moment feedback, regular floor observations, and consistent 1:1 check-ins
  • Maintain a high performance standard by training the team on all SOPs, service expectations, selling skills, and Rothy's product knowledge
  • Lead the Division of Responsibility (DOR) program with your leadership team
  • Ensure consistent execution of the Manager on Duty (MOD) program by setting clear expectations, reinforcing accountability, and regularly reviewing performance to deliver seamless customer and employee experience
  • Coach for high performance and manage employee relations concerns in partnership with your supervisor and the People Team
  • Create a positive and motivating team culture by actively identifying and acting on engagement opportunities
  • Lead and model Rothy's Experience through exceptional service and selling from the sales floor, ensuring the team is fully service-certified and actively coaching, training, and inspecting behaviors to uphold brand standards
  • Build customer loyalty through effective clienteling, working together with the team to strengthen long term relationships
  • Be the store's expert on brand and product knowledge, ensuring the team confidently shares our style, fit, quality, and sustainability story
  • Drive sales and key performance indicators by setting clear goals, celebrating wins, and holding the team accountable through daily coaching
  • Plan and execute in-store events and activations that grow brand awareness, connect with the local community, and drive sales
  • Ensure all presentation touchpoints including visual merchandising, cleanliness, and dress code consistently reflect brand standards and optimize the in-store experience
  • Plan and execute weekly, monthly, and annual business strategies to hit sales growth and profit goals
  • Manage payroll, staffing, scheduling, and store expenses to meet business goals
  • Oversee inventory processes including receiving, processing, damages, and stock accuracy
  • Partner closely with Visual Merchandising and cross-functional teams to uphold brand standards and optimize product performance
  • Use all company platforms and resources effectively for clear team communication and excellent operational execution
