Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized coffeehouse brand known for its commitment to crafting the world's finest coffee and fostering meaningful connections within local communities. As a leader in the specialty coffee industry, Starbucks has built a strong reputation for creating warm and welcoming spaces where every cup of coffee sparks connection and joy. Established with a mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit, Starbucks has grown into an iconic multinational company with thousands of stores worldwide, dedicated not only to serving high-quality coffee but also to engaging with its customers and partners in a genuine and impactful way.

Starbucks' culture is built on the foundation of community, inclusivity, and continuous growth. The company strongly believes that its success is rooted in the well-being and development of its partners, the name Starbucks uses for its employees. As such, Starbucks offers numerous opportunities for growth, professional development, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to empower and support partners and their families. Working at Starbucks means more than just having a job; it means being part of a purpose-driven team united by shared values and a passion for exceptional coffee and customer experiences.

The role of Coffeehouse Leader at Starbucks is a key position within the company that goes beyond the operational management of a coffeehouse. This role requires a blend of leadership, craftsmanship, and community engagement to ensure that each Starbucks store becomes a welcoming hub where customers can enjoy quality coffee and a memorable experience. Coffeehouse Leaders are entrusted with the responsibility to lead, mentor, and inspire their teams, fostering a positive and inclusive environment that promotes collaboration and exemplary service standards.

Candidates interested in this role come from diverse backgrounds, including individuals with at least three years of retail or customer service management experience or candidates with over four years of US military service. Starbucks values strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, along with an entrepreneurial mindset and experience in sales-driven environments. A minimum educational requirement of a high school diploma or GED is required.

In this leadership role, you will be actively involved in coaching and mentoring team partners, using your strong leadership skills to help them grow professionally while maintaining operational excellence. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient store operations that meet the company's high standards, driving sales, and creating an atmosphere where customers feel welcomed and valued. Coffeehouse Leaders must be adaptable to variable schedules that include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be prepared to work full-time hours exceeding 40 hours per week as needed.

Starbucks is deeply invested in the personal and professional growth of its partners, offering multiple developmental experiences and access to exceptional benefits. This support includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options, as well as basic and supplemental life insurance. Partners also have access to disability coverage, paid parental leave, and family expansion reimbursement, along with paid vacation and sick leave accrual from the date of hire. Additional benefits include paid holidays, personal days, participation in a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, discounted company stock purchase plans, the Starbucks Bean Stock equity program, emergency savings incentives, and financial wellness resources.

A unique aspect of Starbucks' investment in its partners' futures is the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, which provides 100% upfront tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor's degree through Arizona State University's online program. The company also offers student loan management assistance, other educational opportunities, and support such as backup care and DACA reimbursement. Starbucks is committed to compliance with applicable state and local laws on employee leave and accommodations, ensuring an inclusive and supportive workplace for all partners.

The base pay for the Coffeehouse Leader role is competitive and determined based on factors including experience, location, and internal equity. Starbucks aims to offer equitable compensation reflective of the responsibilities and expertise required. The company maintains a policy of equal opportunity employment, embracing diversity and inclusivity without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected category.

Joining Starbucks as a Coffeehouse Leader means becoming part of a globally respected brand with a commitment to quality, community, and the well-being of its people. This role offers a unique chance to lead a dynamic team, make a tangible impact on customers and partners alike, and grow within a company that values development and meaningful connections. If you are passionate about coffee, leadership, and creating memorable experiences, Starbucks encourages you to apply and join their mission to craft meaningful moments one cup at a time.
