The role of Head Coach (Store Manager) at ASICS’s Merrimack, NH location is a pivotal leadership position focused on driving the store's operations and team success. With an annual pay range of $57,200 to $63,440, this full-time, in-person role offers a blend of managerial responsibilities including sales oversight, customer service excellence, employee recruitment and development, and maintaining high store standards. The Head Coach will supervise all store employees including the Assistant Head Coach, Team Leads, Team Players, and Stock Associates. The position requires managing daily activities such as opening and closing the store, product merchandising, coaching sales strategies, and ensuring targets are consistently met. The Head Coach conducts hiring, employee onboarding, payroll approval, and performance reviews to promote a motivated and efficient workforce.

Job Requirements
- 3-5 years’ retail management experience
- experience in sporting or athletic industry preferred
- proficient with computer skills including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly to communicate with employees and/or customers
- manual dexterity required
- mostly standing, walking, bending, frequent lifting
- able to work in an indoor environment that is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated
- able to work with moderate noise levels
- ability to perform duties in person at Merrimack, NH location
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ retail management experience
- experience in sporting or athletic industry preferred

- exceptional customer service skills
- knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent service including needs assessment and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- knowledge of methods to promote and sell athletic footwear and apparel including strategies to achieve sales goals
- knowledge of recruitment, selection, training, coaching, and development of personnel
- skilled communication skills both oral and written to staff and upper management
- skilled at supporting customers before and after purchase ensuring an enjoyable experience
- skilled at teaching, instructing, and directing to develop specific skills towards goals
- ability to make sound decisions benefiting the organization
- effective time management for self and others to complete store tasks timely
- ability to recognize and resolve conflicts and problems such as team member conflicts, customer complaints, inventory discrepancies, and applying visual directives
Job Duties
- Monitor sales floor activities by walking and visually inspecting the store to make decisions regarding employee breaks, observing employee interactions with customers, and back-of-house assignments
- perform opening and closing tasks such as ensuring products are visually appealing and shoppable for excellent customer experience
- coach team members on sales strategy, presentation of product information, and general customer service to uphold exceptional customer experience
- greet and assist customers, answer customer questions, and guide product selection to provide excellent customer service
- confirm sales targets are being met by monitoring hourly store and team member sales and adjusting where necessary
- maintain store appearance throughout business hours by restocking merchandise shelves, folding apparel, and organizing shoe displays
- receive and inspect merchandise from the distribution center by counting and opening each box to ensure accurate number of products
- approve employee hours for payroll electronically and distribute paychecks
- audit sales and transaction reports for accuracy and discrepancies as part of a loss prevention strategy
- recruit new talent to meet the store’s coverage and demographic needs by reviewing resumes through applicant tracking system
- complete onboarding procedures including approving wage rate, ensuring all HR documents and training have been completed
- enforce HR policy and procedures to ensure adherence, completing the appropriate HR forms as needed
- complete employee performance reviews to ensure accountability for job expectations
- interact with all levels throughout organization including employees and outside vendors
