Job Description
Panda Express is a leader in the American Chinese fast-food industry, renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences and fostering a positive work environment for its employees. Established in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With approximately 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda Express continues to innovate and expand while maintaining its core values centered around family, community, and personal development.
Working at Panda Express offers not just a job, but a career path focused on professional growth and leadership development. The company is dedicated to the ongoing training and mentorship of its store management team, ensuring that employees are well-equipped to succeed at every level. This dedication is exemplified by their paid Store Management Leadership Training program, which spans eight or more weeks and provides comprehensive preparation for those stepping into leadership roles.
As a Store Manager at Panda Express, you will take full responsibility for the successful operation of a single store. This role is pivotal to the company's mission, as it directly influences the financial performance and guest satisfaction within your assigned location. Your duties will include hiring, managing, and directing associates to meet and exceed financial targets while creating an environment that ensures exceptional customer experiences consistently. The position demands strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Panda Express also emphasizes the physical and mental demands of the role, ensuring that prospective managers understand the nature of the work environment. Store Managers need to be comfortable working in settings that involve heat from steam tables and cooking equipment, standing for extended periods, and managing tasks that require lifting weights up to 50 pounds. This role also requires effective conflict management and problem-solving skills, given the high-energy and sometimes stressful nature of food service operations.
Beyond operational responsibilities, Panda Express is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values all individuals, regardless of sex, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, age, and other protected characteristics. It is dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations to applicants, ensuring an accessible and fair hiring process for all candidates.
In summary, a career as a Store Manager at Panda Express offers a unique opportunity to join an industry-leading company that values its people and fosters a culture of growth and development. If you are passionate about leadership, customer service, and working in a dynamic food service environment, Panda Express provides the training, support, and career advancement opportunities to help you succeed and grow within the organization.
