Job Description

Panda Express is a leading American Chinese restaurant concept founded in Glendale, California in 1983. Over the past four decades, it has grown to become the largest family-owned chain of its kind in the United States, operating nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company is dedicated to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering an environment where people are inspired to improve their lives. With a strong emphasis on family values, Panda Express combines a rich cultural heritage with a commitment to professional and personal development for its associates. This fosters a caring and inclusive culture where employees are encouraged to grow and succeed within the organization.

As a Store Manager at Panda Express, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of a single store’s operations. This important leadership role requires managing and directing associates towards meeting financial goals and ensuring that customers receive outstanding guest experiences. You will have the authority and accountability to make your store a success by driving both operational excellence and team performance. To prepare you for this critical role, you will participate in an extensive store leadership training program lasting at least eight weeks, which provides hands-on mentorship and comprehensive knowledge about store management. The training program equips you with the skills to hire, develop, and motivate your team effectively while implementing company standards for food safety, customer service, and operational procedures. Panda Express prioritizes the health and safety of its employees and customers, requiring Store Managers to maintain high standards such as Serve Safe certification and compliance with safety regulations.

The role of Store Manager at Panda Express demands flexibility regarding work location and schedule, requiring candidates to work in stores located within a 50-mile radius and be available for shifts that may include weekends. This position also requires strong physical stamina, as employees must be able to stand for long periods, handle hot food items safely, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate kitchen tools in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Effective communication and conflict management skills are essential to maintain a positive workplace atmosphere and deliver excellent customer service.

Panda Express also emphasizes its commitment to diversity and inclusion, adhering to Equal Opportunity Employer standards. The company welcomes applicants of all backgrounds and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws regarding workplace accommodations. This enables candidates with disabilities or special needs to participate fully in the application and hiring process. Panda Express’s dedication to creating a supportive, welcoming workplace not only reflects in the care given to its customers but also in the respect and opportunities provided to its associates.

Working as a Store Manager at Panda Express offers a unique and rewarding career path within a respected brand that values its people first. The leadership role provides opportunities for career progression within a strong, growing company that is passionate about food, culture, and community impact. By joining Panda Express, you become part of a collaborative and motivated team that aims to deliver excellence every day while fostering personal growth and professional success.
