Job Description
Panda Express is a premier American Chinese restaurant brand known for offering delicious and authentic Asian-inspired cuisine to customers across the United States and globally. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in America, boasting close to 2,800 locations worldwide. The company's mission centers on delivering exceptional dining experiences while fostering a culture of family values, community involvement, and employee development. Panda Express is deeply committed to the professional and personal growth of its associates, offering ongoing support, mentorship, and leadership training programs to ensure their success.
The role of Store Manager at Panda Express is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the overall operation and success of a single restaurant location. As a Store Manager, you will be entrusted with managing the daily functions of the store, including hiring, training, and directing a team of associates to achieve financial objectives and deliver outstanding guest experiences. You will play a critical part in driving the store's profitability while upholding Panda Express's high standards for food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Panda Express provides an extensive paid Store Management Leadership Training program lasting eight or more weeks to prepare new managers thoroughly for their responsibilities. This training equips candidates with the skills needed for managing store operations, developing a motivated team, and handling the dynamic environment of a fast-paced restaurant. Store Managers must be flexible in work location, as they should be willing to work in any store within a 50-mile radius and accommodate flexible schedules including weekends.
The work environment at Panda Express can be physically demanding, involving standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced kitchen with exposure to heat, steam, and noise. Effective communication skills, adaptability, conflict management, and the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure are essential traits for success in this role. The company strictly adheres to Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines, creating an inclusive workplace free from discrimination and providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Being part of the Panda family means you are joining a company that values teamwork, dedication, and continuous improvement. This career opportunity allows experienced leaders to grow within a supportive community that prioritizes their success while contributing meaningfully to an organization deeply embedded in its communities. If you are seeking a rewarding leadership role in the food service industry with a globally recognized brand, Panda Express’s Store Manager position offers a promising path forward with extensive training, mentorship, and the chance to lead a vibrant team in delivering outstanding Asian dining experiences.
