Job Description
Panda Express, founded in Glendale, California, in 1983, stands as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept across the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda Express has cultivated a reputation not only for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences but also for its commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for its associates. The company emphasizes family values, community impact, and employee development, creating a workplace where individuals are inspired to better their lives both professionally and personally. As an industry leader in fast-casual dining, Panda Express combines the best of American Chinese culinary traditions with a modern and dynamic work culture, continually setting standards in hospitality and service excellence.
The role offered is that of a Store Manager, a critical leadership position responsible for the full operation of a Panda Express store. This role combines strategic management, team leadership, and operational excellence to drive both financial success and outstanding customer experiences. The Store Manager will have direct accountability for hiring, managing, and directing associates, ensuring that every team member contributes positively toward achieving the store's performance goals. Candidates joining Panda Express will benefit from an extensive Store Management Leadership Training program spanning eight or more weeks, designed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their leadership capacity. This program underscores the company’s dedication to professional development and mentorship.
As a Store Manager, the successful candidate will oversee all aspects of store operations, from employee recruitment to daily management of the store environment. They are tasked with cultivating a workplace culture that upholds the Panda Express tradition of food safety, customer service excellence, and operational efficiency. Flexibility is a key attribute expected, as the role may require working within a 50-mile radius of assigned stores and the ability to handle variable schedules, including weekends. The position demands a hands-on approach to store management, ensuring team members perform effectively and that guests receive memorable dining experiences.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Store Manager will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including maintaining Serve Safe certification among team members. Physical demands are part of the job, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment that may involve standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and adapting quickly to changes in workload and priorities. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, the ability to manage conflict, and a keen eye for maintaining high standards throughout the store.
Panda Express is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, deeply committed to diversity and inclusion within its workforce. The organization strictly adheres to all federal, state, and local laws that protect employees from discrimination, and encourages candidates of all backgrounds to apply. The company is also responsive to the needs of applicants requiring accommodations during the hiring process, demonstrating its commitment to accessibility and employee well-being. This welcoming and growth-oriented environment makes Panda Express an excellent choice for individuals looking to build a meaningful and rewarding career in restaurant management.
