Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the American Chinese restaurant industry, widely recognized for its commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences. Established in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, with nearly 2,800 locations globally. The company prides itself not only on its flavorful, high-quality food but also on fostering a work environment that values family, development, and community involvement. With a strong emphasis on employee growth and success, Panda Express dedicates itself to the professional and personal development of its associates by offering comprehensive leadership training programs and mentorship opportunities.
The role of Store Manager at Panda Express is a critical leadership position responsible for the complete operation of a single store. This role demands strong organizational and leadership skills, as the Store Manager oversees hiring, training, managing, and directing associates to meet and exceed financial goals while ensuring the highest standard of guest experience. The Store Manager is instrumental in creating a positive work environment that motivates the team and drives store success. Prior to assuming full responsibility, candidates undergo at least eight weeks of paid Store Management Leadership Training designed to equip them with essential skills and knowledge necessary for effective store management. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weekends and the ability to work at a store location within a 50-mile radius of the candidate's residence.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Store Manager must ensure compliance with food safety standards, including Serve Safe certification. The work environment may present physical demands, such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds, and working in a hot kitchen environment with loud noises and limited storage space. Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to manage conflicts and adapt to fast-paced, dynamic situations are essential for success in this role. Panda Express is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and encourages applicants from all backgrounds, including those with disabilities, to apply. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, the company provides reasonable accommodations throughout the application and hiring process to support all qualified candidates. The Store Manager position offers a unique opportunity to join a growing organization where leadership, community involvement, and employee success are at the forefront of the company’s values.
