Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, known for its delicious American Chinese cuisine and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Established in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant concept in America, with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. This expansive growth and dedication to excellence have solidified Panda Express as a preferred dining destination for guests craving bold flavors and exceptional service. The company is deeply committed to fostering a strong community atmosphere, valuing family principles, and prioritizing the professional and personal development of its associates. With a mission to inspire individuals to better their lives while delivering outstanding Asian dining experiences, Panda Express provides a supportive environment where employees are encouraged to grow and succeed.
The Store Manager role at Panda Express offers a unique opportunity for dynamic leaders to take charge of a single store's operations and drive its success. As a pivotal figure in the store management team, the Store Manager's responsibilities encompass a broad range of tasks focused on both associate management and guest experience excellence. This includes hiring and mentoring staff, managing daily operations, and ensuring financial targets are met. Panda Express understands the importance of preparation and ongoing development, which is why they provide an extensive store leadership training program lasting eight or more weeks. This paid training combines practical experience with mentorship from seasoned leaders, equipping new managers with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
Beyond operational duties, the role demands a commitment to maintaining food safety standards, creating a positive workplace culture, and adapting swiftly to the dynamic needs of the business. The Store Manager must be flexible, with the capability to work varying hours including weekends, and locations within a 50-mile radius of their base store. This flexibility ensures the store meets fluctuating customer demands and operational needs. Panda Express champions an inclusive and supportive workspace, offering equal opportunities to all candidates regardless of gender, race, religion, or other protected characteristics. The company is also mindful of accessibility and accommodations, ensuring all applicants have a fair chance to participate in the hiring process or job performance with appropriate assistance if required.
In summary, a career as a Store Manager at Panda Express is more than just managing a restaurant — it is about leading a community-focused business that values its people as much as its food. The position is ideal for those passionate about leadership, customer service, and the food industry, offering a rewarding path with professional growth, competitive training, and the satisfaction of driving a successful store operation within a supportive corporate family.
