Job Description

Panda Express is a renowned leader in the American Chinese dining industry, boasting nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant concept in the United States. The company prides itself on its family values and continual commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to its customers. Panda Express emphasizes the professional and personal development of its associates, creating an environment where individuals are inspired to improve their lives while contributing to the organization’s success and community impact.

The role of a Store Manager at Panda Express is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the operations of a single store. This position demands a dynamic individual who is passionate about achieving financial goals, maintaining high standards of customer service, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Store Managers are entrusted with hiring, managing, and directing a team of associates to drive store success. To support new managers in excelling, Panda Express offers an extensive paid Store Management Leadership Training program which lasts eight weeks or more. This program provides comprehensive mentorship and support from the Panda community, equipping managers with the tools and knowledge for success.

As a Store Manager, you will embody the brand's commitment to excellence by leading your team through various operational tasks including maintaining food safety standards, managing employee schedules, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This role requires a strong leader who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, capable of adapting to changing business needs while maintaining focus on team morale and customer satisfaction. The Store Manager’s ability to foster an inclusive and supportive work atmosphere also plays a critical role in the store’s overall performance.

Panda Express values flexibility in its management team, requiring candidates who are open to working schedules that may include weekends and the ability to work within a 50-mile radius of store locations. The position also demands Physical stamina and an ability to work in challenging conditions as the workspace is often hot and requires employees to remain standing for extended periods. Managers must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing duties that involve quick, accurate food preparation and effective communication with their team.

Beyond operational responsibilities, Panda Express is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion. They comply fully with all federal, state, and local laws regarding workplace accommodation and are dedicated to providing a supportive environment for all employees. Whether it’s dealing with day-to-day challenges or long-term career growth, Panda Express ensures that every associate is given the tools and resources necessary to succeed and thrive within the company.
