Job Description

Panda Express is a leader in the fast-casual dining industry, offering flavorful American Chinese cuisine in locations across the United States and around the globe. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States with close to 2,800 locations worldwide. This impressive expansion is a testament to the company's strong commitment to quality food, exceptional guest service, and community involvement. The brand has earned a reputation for delivering a distinctive dining experience that brings together great taste and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that celebrates family values.

As a company, Panda Express is deeply dedicated to the professional and personal development of its associates. The company offers a supportive and inclusive work environment where team members are valued as family, with extensive training programs, mentorship opportunities, and a culture that fosters growth and advancement. Panda Express is an Equal Opportunity Employer that strictly adheres to all federal, state, and local laws, providing equal employment opportunities regardless of gender, race, disability, or other protected characteristics. The organization also prioritizes workplace accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring that all qualified applicants have equal access to employment opportunities.

The Store Manager position at Panda Express is a pivotal role responsible for leading the operations of a single restaurant location. This role encompasses a broad range of leadership and operational duties, including hiring staff, managing and directing associates, meeting financial goals, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest experiences. The Store Manager must create an environment that motivates the team and drives the store's success by maintaining high standards for quality and service.

To prepare candidates for this leadership role, Panda Express provides an extensive Store Management Leadership Training program lasting eight or more weeks. This program equips new managers with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively lead a store, including training in team management, financial oversight, and customer service excellence. Through mentorship and ongoing support from the Panda community, Store Managers are set up to succeed and grow within the company.

Flexibility is key for this role, as Store Managers must be willing to work in any store within a 50-mile radius and be able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends. This operational flexibility enables Panda Express to maintain high standards and continuity across its various locations. The role also requires being Serve Safe certified, demonstrating knowledge in food safety and handling to protect both employees and guests.

Working at Panda Express involves physical demands and dynamic work conditions. Employees should be prepared to work in fast-paced environments, often standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. The kitchens can be hot and noisy, with limited storage and high shelving. Effective verbal communication and adaptability to changing priorities are essential, as is the ability to manage conflict and difficult situations gracefully.

Joining Panda Express means becoming part of a passionate team committed to making a positive impact on both the guests they serve and the communities they operate in. The company’s dedication to its associates' well-being, career growth, and work-life balance makes it an attractive place to build a rewarding career in the restaurant industry. If you are a motivated leader looking for an opportunity to thrive within a respected industry leader, Panda Express offers a career path filled with learning, advancement, and the chance to be part of a vibrant, supportive family-oriented culture.
