Job Description

Panda Express is the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant concept in the United States, founded in 1983 in Glendale, California. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda Express continues to uphold its mission of delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences by creating an organization where people feel inspired to improve their lives. At the heart of Panda Express's success is a commitment to their associates' professional and personal growth, making it a company that truly embodies family values while fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.

As a store manager at Panda Express, you will take on a vital leadership role within one of the company's single-store operations. This position requires ownership and responsibility for all aspects of the store, including hiring qualified staff, managing and directing associates to meet financial goals, and ensuring every guest receives an exceptional dining experience. Panda Express invests deeply in your success by providing at least eight weeks of comprehensive paid Store Management Leadership Training, mentorship, and continuous support from a community of dedicated professionals.

The role is ideal for individuals who are highly motivated, adaptable, and passionate about leadership in the fast-paced restaurant industry. Store managers must be prepared to lead with integrity, make strategic decisions that drive business growth, and foster a welcoming atmosphere for both employees and guests. You will be required to manage flexible schedules, including opening and closing shifts, weekends, holidays, and evening hours to align with operational needs. Additionally, this role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution, ensuring both team cohesion and memorable customer experiences.

Candidates need to be flexible regarding their location, as the role requires willingness to relocate within a 50-mile radius of their home. Food safety is paramount; hence, a Serve Safe certification is necessary to maintain sanitary and compliant food handling practices. The job also requires physical stamina—the ability to stand for long periods, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment characterized by heat and noise.

Panda Express prides itself on its commitment to equal employment opportunities. The company does not discriminate based on protected characteristics and actively facilitates accommodations for individuals with disabilities, ensuring a fair and supportive recruitment and employment process. With its foundation rooted in family values, community impact, and diversity, Panda Express offers a vibrant workplace for those eager to grow their careers in restaurant management, develop their leadership skills, and make a tangible difference in an ever-expanding, successful brand.
