Job Description

Panda Express is a leading American Chinese restaurant chain renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences across the United States and globally. Founded in Glendale, California in 1983, Panda Express has grown to be the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. As a company rooted deeply in family values, Panda Express is dedicated not only to satisfying the appetites of its customers but also to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment where employees can thrive and grow professionally and personally. This mission is reflected in its ongoing investment in the training, mentorship, and development of its associates, ensuring a strong community and empowering team members to reach their full potential.

Joining Panda Express as a Store Manager means becoming part of a vibrant, fast-paced industry leader who values the success of its people as much as its business milestones. The position is a full-time leadership role responsible for the daily operations of an individual restaurant store. As a Store Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the restaurant’s success, including managing a team of associates, driving financial performance, hiring and training staff, and ensuring a consistently exceptional guest experience. The role requires dedication and leadership to meet operational goals while maintaining a positive and motivating atmosphere that supports the company’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Panda Express provides comprehensive Store Management Leadership Training lasting eight weeks or more, ensuring new managers are fully equipped with the skills and knowledge to successfully lead their teams. This investment in training includes guidance from experienced mentors and support from the wider Panda community. The leadership training covers essential areas such as team development, customer engagement, financial management, and operational excellence. This prepares managers to meet the challenges of the restaurant business head-on while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

Besides operational responsibilities, the Store Manager at Panda Express must be flexible, willing to relocate within a 50-mile radius as needed, and able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with business needs. The position demands strong leadership, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic, sometimes fast-paced work environment. Food safety is also a priority, with Store Managers required to be Serve Safe certified, ensuring compliance with health regulations and the safety of both customers and team members.

At its core, Panda Express strives to create a workplace where associates feel valued and supported regardless of background, embracing diversity and equal opportunity. The company complies with all relevant federal, state, and local laws concerning workplace accommodation, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all applicants and employees. The role offers not just a job but an opportunity to join a company with a strong cultural foundation, a clear growth path, and a supportive team environment. If you are passionate about leadership, customer service, and working in a community-oriented setting, this position could be an excellent fit for your career aspirations.
