Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, specializing in American Chinese cuisine. Established in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has evolved into the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant chain in the United States, boasting nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company’s mission centers on delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a culture where employees are inspired to improve their lives. Panda Express places a strong emphasis on family values and community impact, making it more than just a restaurant – it’s a place where associates are valued and supported through professional development and mentorship.
Panda Express is currently seeking experienced individuals to join its store management team. The position of Store Manager is pivotal, as it involves overseeing the entire operation of a single restaurant location. This includes hiring and managing team members, directing daily activities to achieve financial targets, and ensuring outstanding guest service. The Store Manager acts as the leader and face of the store, responsible for creating a positive work environment that drives success both operationally and with customer satisfaction. To prepare candidates for this leadership role, Panda Express offers a comprehensive paid Store Management Leadership Training program lasting eight or more weeks, along with ongoing mentorship and support from the Panda community.
This role requires flexibility and commitment, as schedules may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. The successful Store Manager must be adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment, handling high-pressure situations while maintaining accuracy and quality. Beyond traditional management duties, candidates must be food safety compliant, holding a Serve Safe certification, and be prepared to meet physical demands such as standing for prolonged periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Working at Panda Express means joining a company that values equal opportunity and provides accommodations for individuals with disabilities in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The workplace environment is dynamic, with steam, food vapors, and noise being regular elements of the daily setting. Team members work collaboratively to ensure a clean, efficient operation that delivers an exceptional guest experience.
By becoming a Store Manager at Panda Express, candidates align themselves with a respected global brand that continues to expand its footprint. The role offers both a challenging and rewarding career path with growth opportunities in management. Panda Express’s dedication to associate development ensures that store managers receive the tools, training, and team support necessary to thrive. If you are driven to lead a team and excel in a fast-paced hospitality setting, Panda Express provides a unique opportunity to grow your career while contributing to an established and beloved restaurant brand.
