Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., known widely for its Panda Express brand, is a leading family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept headquartered in Glendale, California. Since its founding in 1983, Panda Express has grown into the largest Asian dining brand in the United States, operating nearly 2,800 locations globally. The company is dedicated to delivering authentic, high-quality Asian-inspired cuisine to its guests while fostering a supportive and engaging work environment for its employees. Panda Express is committed to the professional and personal development of its associates, offering extensive training, mentorship programs, and a community that values collaboration and growth. The company embraces family values and strives to positively impact both its team members and the communities where it operates.
The Store Manager role at Panda Express is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a single store. This role requires a passionate leader dedicated to managing and directing store associates to meet and exceed financial goals while ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction. The Store Manager is accountable for every aspect of the store’s success, including hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating team members, maintaining food safety standards, and driving sales performance. As a pivotal figure within the store, the Store Manager ensures that all operational and customer service standards are consistently met, creating an environment that fosters teamwork and excellence.
To prepare candidates for success, Panda Express provides an in-depth Store Management Leadership Training program lasting eight or more weeks, which equips future managers with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead effectively. The role demands flexibility in work hours, including availability for opening and closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Additionally, candidates must be willing to relocate within a 50-mile radius of their home to different stores if required.
Working at Panda Express is not only about managing a store; it is about being part of a family-oriented community that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. Panda Restaurant Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to creating a welcoming and accessible workplace for all individuals regardless of their background or protected status under the law. The role also emphasizes the importance of adaptability, effective communication, and conflict resolution skills to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The workplace may include exposure to heat, noise, and physical activity such as standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Despite these challenges, the role offers the chance to lead a thriving business within one of America’s most recognized food brands and grow professionally within a company that supports career advancement.
