Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company stands as a global leader in the coffeehouse industry, renowned for its commitment to crafting the world’s finest coffee and fostering meaningful connections among customers. As a premier coffeehouse chain, Starbucks has established a legacy rooted in creating warm, welcoming spaces where every cup of coffee sparks joy and connection within the community. Known for their dedication to quality, innovation, and customer experience, Starbucks offers not just a beverage but a destination where people come together, relax, and share moments that matter. The company embodies a culture of inclusivity and growth, providing its partners (employees) with opportunities for personal and professional development, supported by industry-leading benefits designed to promote well-being and career advancement. Starbucks operates with a philosophy that every store is more than just a place to get coffee—it is a hub of local community spirit, led by passionate individuals who uphold the brand’s values every day.

The role of a coffeehouse leader at Starbucks is dynamic and deeply impactful. More than managing day-to-day operations, this position calls for an innate ability to lead with both craft and heart. Coffeehouse leaders are pivotal in setting the tone for a positive customer experience by inspiring, coaching, and mentoring their teams effectively. This leadership position demands strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, along with an entrepreneurial mindset geared towards sales and customer satisfaction. Starbucks seeks individuals who have a minimum of three years’ experience in retail or customer service management, or alternatively, four or more years of U.S. Military service, bringing a unique perspective on leadership and teamwork.

In this role, coffeehouse leaders play a critical part in ensuring that every customer interaction is meaningful, helping to mold the coffeehouse into a place that feels like home to the community. Their responsibilities include building a strong team culture, guiding partners to deliver excellent service, and managing operations to meet company standards. They also work closely with their teams to foster connections that go beyond transactional interactions, enhancing the overall experience for both customers and employees.

Starbucks is deeply invested in the growth journey of its partners, empowering them through comprehensive training and development programs, as well as a robust benefits package. Partners enjoy access to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options, as well as paid parental leave, paid vacation from the date of hire, and sick time accrual. Additional financial benefits include participation in a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match and access to discounted company stock programs. An exceptional benefit unique to Starbucks partners is the 100 percent upfront tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through the Starbucks College Achievement Plan with Arizona State University’s online program, highlighting the company’s commitment to lifelong learning and career growth.

Committed to inclusion and equal opportunity, Starbucks welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds, ensuring consideration without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status. The company also provides reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. Starbucks coffeehouses operate with flexible scheduling, requiring the ability to work variable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role offers a chance to grow as an individual, to build lasting relationships, and to make a meaningful impact within a community-focused environment. Join Starbucks and connect with something bigger today.
