Job Description

Stinker is a longstanding, family-owned convenience store chain established in 1936, with locations sprawling across Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming. Renowned for a unique combination of convenience, food, and friendly service, Stinker has earned its place as a favorite destination for both customers and employees alike. Led affectionately by their Skunktastik mascot, Polecat Pete, the company focuses on creating a vibrant, people-centric culture where work feels like a community endeavor more than just a job. Fun is a big part of their philosophy; after all, they do have a skunk as their mascot, which speaks to their lighthearted and approachable brand persona. Stinker is more than just a convenience store; it aims to be a bright spot in the lives it touches daily, whether that's through providing exceptional service, supporting its community, or fostering growth among its team members.

The Store Manager - Food Service role is crafted for individuals who are natural leaders, thrive in fast-paced environments, and enjoy turning chaos into organized, efficient operations. This full-time position typically involves working around 45 hours a week with varying schedules that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays. As the leader of the food service team, the manager ensures that all aspects of store operations, particularly the food program, run seamlessly and meet high standards. The job demands strong multitasking abilities to manage labor costs, sales, inventory, waste, and adherence to health and safety regulations. It also involves community engagement through local events, festivals, and promoting the brand through creative marketing strategies for the mobile food truck.

The role calls for a hands-on approach to mentoring and developing staff members, instilling a positive and productive team culture. The manager oversees scheduling, inventory, and the daily execution of food truck operations, promoting fast, friendly service and maintaining cleanliness and equipment. A key part of the role is ensuring compliance with company policies and vendor guidelines and collaborating closely with district leadership and support teams for problem-solving and resource management.

Working at Stinker means joining an energetic and supportive team where hard work is celebrated with competitive pay, merit-based raises, profit sharing twice a year, and access to an innovative DailyPay app for early wage access. Employees enjoy six paid holidays, paid time off that grows with tenure, and referral rewards for bringing in talented friends. Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, vision, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), accident coverage, and optional life insurance, offer peace of mind. Staff have access to free virtual medical services through Teladoc and a 401(k) plan with a company match that increases with tenure, ensuring employees can build a secure future. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) supports workers in managing life’s challenges, from stress to legal and financial advice.

Overall, the Store Manager - Food Service position at Stinker represents an excellent career opportunity for individuals who seek a dynamic work environment with ample room for personal and professional growth. The company’s commitment to its people and communities ensures that success is shared, making the job much more than just a paycheck — it's a chance to be part of a vibrant culture and a growing enterprise. If you are ready to lead with purpose, inspire your team, and have fun while doing it, Stinker invites you to join their Stinkin’ Awesome crew and help them make every day better for customers and employees alike.
