Job Description

US Foods is one of America’s leading foodservice distributors, delivering a broad and innovative portfolio of products, services, and solutions to more than 250,000 customers across the nation. Recognized for its commitment to quality, value, and customer service, the company serves a wide spectrum of clients including restaurants, healthcare, hospitality, education, and government institutions. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, a robust supply chain, and extensive culinary expertise, US Foods empowers foodservice operators to meet evolving consumer preferences with speed and efficiency. The company’s division, CHEF’STORE, is a specialized retail concept offering restaurant-quality ingredients and equipment to both professional chefs and home cooks at wholesale prices. This unique cash and carry business model provides customers with fresh produce, meat, dairy, and a wide variety of restaurant necessities without the hassle of memberships, delivering an easy and accessible shopping experience in clutter-free stores open to the public.

The Store Manager role at CHEF’S TORE is a leadership position integral to the operational success and customer service excellence of each store location. This role requires a dynamic, customer-focused professional who creates and sustains a culture of outstanding service, operational efficiency, and financial performance. The Store Manager acts as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring they receive friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable assistance daily. Beyond customer interaction, this position carries full accountability for the store’s financial results—including product merchandising, expense control, and achievement of sales and profitability goals through adherence to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP). The manager recruits, trains, and develops store employees, fostering a motivated team that upholds company standards and operational procedures such as loss prevention, inventory management, and store safety.

Critical to this role is the management of a seamless, customer-centric store environment where employees are empowered and supported to deliver expert product knowledge and helpful cost-saving advice. The position requires effective oversight of inventory replenishment through the Point of Sale system, strategic marketing planning and execution, and collaboration with corporate teams to meet overall sales objectives. The Store Manager also plays a crucial role in staffing activities including advertising, interviewing, hiring, and performance evaluations, maintaining compliance with company policies and loss prevention protocols. This leadership role demands strong organizational skills, critical business acumen, and the ability to make sound judgments that balance operational needs with an exceptional customer experience. The position offers an expected base salary range of $81,000 to $130,000, along with an annual incentive bonus and comprehensive benefits. Work schedules may require flexibility including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands.
