The organization's retail operations play a critical role in funding its mission by providing job opportunities and career advancement pathways for individuals who need a second chance in the workforce. Goodwill is committed to fostering an inclusive, welcoming work environment that embraces diversity and collaboration, making it an excellent place to grow a career.
The Retail Store Manager in Training (MIT) role is a unique and comprehensive program designed to prepare passionate individuals to become effective leaders within Goodwill's retail operations. This position involves completing a rigorous training program at designated training locations where the MIT will rotate through various key retail functions. The program covers all aspects of retail management, including operational procedures, company policies, customer service, inventory control, financial management, and team leadership. Upon successful completion of the program, the MIT will transition into a full-time Store Manager position, bearing full responsibility for a Goodwill retail store location.
As a Retail Store Manager, you will be instrumental in driving the success of your store by executing strategic retail operations plans aimed at meeting and exceeding sales, production, and revenue goals. You will manage all store functions, directly lead assistant store managers, donation attendants, and the production team, and ensure that customer service standards uphold Goodwill's reputation as a community-centered brand. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment that reflects the Goodwill mission and values. In addition, you will collaborate with community partners to promote Goodwill's services, further contributing to the organization's positive impact.
This role offers a competitive starting salary of $77,250 annually, complemented by eligibility for a monthly performance-based bonus upon completion of the training program. Employment is full-time, and the position emphasizes the development and growth of team members through continuous coaching, training, and performance management. The Retail Store Manager will also work closely with various support departments such as Human Resources, Asset Protection, Safety, Finance, and Learning & Development to align store activities with broader organizational goals and compliance standards.
