This full-time Store Leader (Manager) Trainee position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with additional opportunities available in Cleveland, Tennessee; Hixson, Tennessee; and Ringgold, Georgia.
As a Store Leader Trainee at 7-Eleven, you will embark on an extensive training program designed to develop your leadership skills and operational expertise within the retail convenience store environment. Over the initial three months, you will master essential managerial competencies including sales optimization, team leadership, store merchandising, and customer service excellence. This trainee role offers a clear pathway to becoming a Store Manager, where you will take accountability for the overall success and profitability of the store.
Your responsibilities will include coaching and developing store staff, executing merchandising and marketing initiatives, managing P&L reports to inform strategic decisions, ensuring store safety and cleanliness, and fostering an inviting customer experience that reflects the 7-Eleven brand values. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least one year of retail management experience
- Ability to oversee customer service leadership and staff coaching
- Ability to implement merchandising and marketing initiatives
- Ability to analyze P&L and store reports
- Ability to manage cash handling and fuel transactions
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe store
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient with computer programs
- Valid driver’s license and insurance
- Ability to perform physical tasks and lift up to 50 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least one year of retail management experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to multitask and manage physical demands of the role
- Valid driver’s license and automotive liability insurance
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
Job Duties
- Oversee and provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching for all store employees
- Maintain high retention by identifying qualified applicants, developing leaders, empowering employees, and encouraging productivity
- Implement all merchandising and marketing programs
- Use P&L and store reports to drive store performance improvements
- Manage cash handling, fuel transactions, and promote the rewards loyalty program
- Maintain a clean, safe store environment complying with health and sanitation procedures
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers
