The Store Director role at Fresh Thyme is a pivotal leadership position responsible for all aspects of store operations and planning. Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 6 years professional experience
Preferred 5-7 years grocery retail experience in overall store operations and merchandising
Previous experience in natural foods industry preferred
Must maintain highest level of customer service
Ability to work varied hours and days
Familiarity with health department regulations
Must have excellent communication skills
Ability to lead and motivate teams
Proficiency in MS Office
Must be able to analyze financial statements
Ability to handle multitasking and organizational demands
Must be adaptable to changing retail environment
Ability to take initiative and problem solve

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 6 years professional experience
Preferred 5-7 years grocery retail experience in store operations and merchandising processes
Previous experience in natural foods industry is a plus
Strong customer service skills
Ability to lead and support a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Job Duties

Work with all departments to ensure and maintain appropriate functioning of entire store operations
Prepare weekly sales/labor projections, execute to plan, and consistently achieve budgeted payroll percentage
Oversee department managers to ensure accountability for their department conditions, including hiring practices, scheduling techniques, and labor cost management
Hire, develop, evaluate, and supervise Department Managers and staff
Manage store financials and demonstrate full comprehension of Profit & Loss Statement
Analyze company financial statements and use them in daily business operations
Maintain store sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with local laws and best practices
Maintain a safe work environment for employees, vendors, and customers
Monitor cash management including approving all store expenses before they occur
Initiate weekly communications with support department directors for business information exchange
Ensure all store expenses receive proper approval before entry
Ensure monthly inventory counts and deadlines are met and the store is inventory ready
Monitor and address customer issues, personnel situations, rewards and recognition, and policy violations
Coordinate store events including sales flyers, merchandising plans, inventories, and marketing promotions
Oversee merchandising, loss prevention, and store appearance
Anticipate business highs and lows and adjust labor accordingly
Sustain a high level of product knowledge and preparation
Regularly walk departments to ensure an organized, sanitary, and clean appearance
Perform other duties as assigned
