This role is for a team member at HomeGoods, one of TJX Companies' leading retail brands, located at Pembroke Pines, Florida. The position is hourly, with a starting pay range from $14.00 to $14.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment with an emphasis on floor care. This includes operating cleaning equipment such as scrubbers and buffers, along with dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning glass surfaces. In addition to maintaining the sales floor, the role demands attention to backroom areas, associate lounges, restrooms, and ensuring all areas meet safety and cleanliness standards.
Cross-training is an essential component of this position, enabling the team member to assist in multiple store areas like the front end, sales floor, and backrooms to support business needs flexibly. The associate is responsible for upholding merchandising and signage standards, adhering to loss prevention policies, and participating in daily store recovery activities. This role requires excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with management and fellow associates. The ability to respond appropriately to changing priorities and unexpected situations is necessary to maintain the store’s operational standards and excellent customer service practices.
The ideal candidate will exhibit strong organizational skills, physical stamina for performing manual cleaning tasks and operating floor care machinery, and a commitment to a positive and respectful store culture. Prior retail customer service experience is preferred but not mandatory. Job Duties
- Role models established customer experience practices with internal and external customers
- supports and embodies a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect
- maintains all floor care cleanliness standards including the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer
- maintains all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store, e.g. sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom and restrooms
- adheres to all company policies concerning health and safety (includes the refilling of all essential items in the lounge, restrooms and front end)
- cross-trained in other areas of the store (backroom, front end, sales floor, etc.)
- supports and responds to all front end coverage needs
- adheres and upholds merchandising philosophy and signage standards
- initiates and participates in store recovery as needed throughout the day
- adheres to all operational and loss prevention controls in accordance with company guidelines and policies including shrink reduction
- communicates accurately and effectively with management and associates
- adheres to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, including associate meal and break period policies
