This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment where customers can enjoy a pleasant shopping experience. As a Floor Care Associate at HomeGoods, you will be responsible for ensuring the store’s appearance meets all cleanliness and organizational standards. This includes operating essential floor care equipment such as scrubbers and buffers, performing dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning glass and windows. You will play a crucial role in upholding company policies related to health and safety, loss prevention, and merchandising standards. The position requires someone who can adapt quickly to changing store needs and support various store areas by being cross-trained in departments like the backroom, front end, and sales floor.
This role goes beyond basic cleaning duties; you will be a role model for excellent customer service, consistently demonstrating honesty, integrity, and respect. Your efforts will contribute to a positive store culture where associates and customers feel valued. You will help support recovery operations throughout the day, maintain essential supplies, and participate actively in safety awareness initiatives to promote a secure environment for everyone. Job Duties
- Role models established customer experience practices with internal and external customers
- Supports and embodies a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect
- Maintains all floor care cleanliness standards including the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer
- Maintains all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store, e.g. Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom and Restrooms
- Adheres to all company policies concerning Health and Safety (includes the refilling of all essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms and Front End)
- Cross-trained in other areas of the store (Backroom, Front End, Sales Floor, etc.)
- Supports and responds to all Front End coverage needs
- Adheres and upholds merchandising philosophy and signage standards
- Initiates and participates in store recovery as needed throughout the day
- Adheres to all operational and loss prevention controls in accordance with company guidelines and policies including shrink reduction
- Communicates accurately and effectively with management and Associates
- Adheres to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, including Associate meal and break period policies
- Participates in safety awareness maintains a safe environment
- Other duties as assigned
