This position is a part-time role based at the Marshalls Store 1449 in Camden, SC, offering a starting pay range of $12.75 to $13.25 per hour, with actual pay based on skills, qualifications, and experience. The role focuses primarily on maintaining a clean, safe, and organized store environment, with a special emphasis on floor care. Responsibilities include operating floor care equipment such as scrubbers and buffers, maintaining cleanliness through sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mop cleaning, and performing spot cleaning on glass and windows to ensure high standards of appearance and safety.

The successful candidate will be cross-trained in various store areas including the backroom, front end, and sales floor, enabling them to support multiple facets of store operations. This role requires adherence to company policies related to health and safety, merchandise display, operational standards, and loss prevention, including shrink reduction. Communication with management and colleagues must be effective, ensuring smooth coordination and execution of store tasks. Employees will also take part in store recovery activities throughout the day to maintain an optimal shopping environment.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate exceptional customer service, strong organizational skills, flexibility in scheduling, and the physical capacity to perform cleaning duties and operate machinery. They should be capable of multitasking and adapting quickly to procedural or situational changes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Previous retail experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Duties

  • Role model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers
  • Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect
  • Maintain all floor care cleanliness standards including the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer
  • Maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store including sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms
  • Adhere to all company policies concerning health and safety including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end
  • Cross-train in other areas of the store such as backroom, front end, sales floor
  • Support and respond to all front end coverage needs
  • Adhere and uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards
  • Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day
  • Adhere to all operational and loss prevention controls according to company guidelines including shrink reduction
  • Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates
  • Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures including associate meal and break period policies
  • Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
