The Bakery Team Member position at Whole Foods Market is a vital role that involves preparing and baking a wide range of products that meet the company’s high-quality standards. Job Requirements

  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • ability to use single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling hand motions
  • able to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to operate tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Qualifications

  • 6-12 months retail experience
  • thorough product knowledge
  • working knowledge of merchandising expectations within the department

Job Duties

  • Measures, mixes, and prepares raw materials according to company specifications and recipes
  • forms, cuts, molds, shapes, and bakes dough
  • monitors cooking completion times and sets heat and humidity temperatures for proof box
  • checks product to ensure it meets Whole Foods Market quality standards
  • ensures temperature, sweep, and sanitation logs are completed
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • provides excellent customer service and models suggestive selling techniques
  • maximizes sales potential through proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • follows and complies with established procedures including health and sanitation and safe work practices
  • maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • immediately reports safety hazards and violations
  • performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
