Job Description

In-N-Out Burger is a beloved fast food restaurant chain founded in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Park, California. The company remains privately owned and operated by the Snyder family and has expanded its presence across several states, including California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Colorado, Idaho, and Washington. Known for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, In-N-Out Burger has built a lasting reputation for serving fresh, made-to-order foods in a clean and welcoming environment. The company prides itself on maintaining the same simple menu since its founding while upholding a philosophy centered on using only the highest quality ingredients, preparing food in a sparkling clean setting, and delivering exceptional customer service through friendly and well-trained Associates.

Working at In-N-Out Burger means joining a fast-paced, fun, and team-oriented workplace where Associates are encouraged to grow and develop their skills. The company employs thousands of Associates across multiple states, all sharing a love for the brand’s values and culture. In-N-Out Burger offers a competitive hourly wage with regular opportunities for raises and advancement, flexible scheduling to balance work and life commitments, and a comprehensive benefits package. These benefits include a free meal during each shift, paid vacation time, an educational assistance program, profit sharing and 401(k) plans for eligible employees, and access to medical benefits for full-time Associates. In-N-Out also organizes many fun events and fosters a strong sense of camaraderie among its team members, helping to create meaningful friendships that enhance the work experience.

As a Store Associate at In-N-Out Burger, you will play a crucial role in providing customers with a consistently excellent experience. Starting at Level 1, no prior experience is required as comprehensive training is provided to ensure your success. Your responsibilities will revolve around exceptional customer care, anticipating and meeting customer needs with friendliness and enthusiasm. Associates greet customers warmly, take accurate orders via the register or drive-through system, and ensure every food order meets the high standards of quality before it reaches the customer.

In addition to customer service, Store Associates help prepare fresh produce such as peeling and dicing potatoes, chopping onions, slicing tomatoes, and leafing lettuce, maintaining the freshness and quality that In-N-Out is known for. Teamwork is essential, with Associates ready to assist one another as needed and to ask for help when required. Keeping the workspace and store environment spotless is a daily priority, including cleaning duties before, during, and after shifts to provide a clean and inviting restaurant for customers.

In-N-Out Burger values personal and professional growth. Through ongoing training and development programs, Associates are empowered to learn new skills, including cooking and food preparation tasks, which open the door to promotions and pay increases. Many Store Managers and Divisional Managers began their careers as hourly Associates, reflecting the strong internal promotion culture and the company’s investment in its employees' future.

Joining In-N-Out Burger means becoming part of a family that prioritizes quality food, excellent service, and a positive work environment. If you enjoy working in a team, have a strong work ethic, and are eager to provide friendly service in a clean setting, you will find In-N-Out Burger to be an enriching and rewarding place to work. The company is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations throughout the interview process when needed.
