Job Description

In-N-Out Burger is a well-established fast-food restaurant chain that has been serving high-quality, freshly prepared food since its founding in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Park, California. The company is privately owned and operated and has expanded its reach to multiple states including California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Colorado, Idaho, and Washington. Known for its simple but effective philosophy, In-N-Out Burger maintains a menu that has remained unchanged since its inception, focusing on serving only the freshest, highest quality products in a clean and welcoming environment. In-N-Out prides itself on its reputation for excellent customer service provided by friendly and well-trained Associates who are passionate about delivering a memorable dining experience.

This fast-paced, fun, and team-oriented environment values every Associate and fosters opportunities for personal and professional growth. The company employs thousands of Associates across its restaurant locations and offers competitive hourly wages with regular opportunities for advancement and raises. Flexible scheduling, free meals during shifts, paid vacation time, and numerous fun events create a supportive and enjoyable workplace. In addition, In-N-Out supports the educational growth of its staff through programs like the Educational Assistance Program, profit sharing, and 401(k) plans available after meeting eligibility requirements. Full-time Associates have access to medical benefits, emphasizing the company’s commitment to their well-being. The culture promotes strong team bonds and friendships, further enhancing the overall work experience.

The role of a Level 1 Store Associate is designed as an entry-level position where prior work experience is not required. New hires receive thorough training to ensure success and growth within the company. Store Associates are integral to delivering exceptional customer service by anticipating customer needs and providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Their duties include greeting customers with a smile, taking orders accurately, handling payments, and ensuring the quality of food delivered meets the company’s high standards. Associates also engage in food preparation, such as peeling and dicing potatoes, slicing onions and tomatoes, and maintaining fresh produce. They work collaboratively with team members, offering assistance when needed and requesting help to ensure smooth operations.

Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene is a critical part of the job, with responsibilities including cleaning workstations, the store, and surrounding areas before, during, and after shifts to uphold a sparkling environment. Associates take pride in serving the best quality burgers, fries, and drinks, with the opportunity to learn additional skills such as cooking and food preparation as they progress. The company encourages all Associates to develop their careers internally, with many managerial roles filled by those who began in hourly positions. This commitment to investing in employees and maintaining high standards in all aspects of the business makes In-N-Out Burger a respected and sought-after employer in the food service industry.
