"Sam" Shoen and Anna Mary Carty Shoen, the company revolutionized moving by offering affordable, one-way rental equipment to the masses, enabling convenient and cost-effective relocations. Over the decades, U-Haul has expanded its services to include an extensive network of storage facilities and moving supplies, reinforcing its reputation as a trusted and customer-centric brand. The company values innovation, community involvement, and a commitment to health and wellness, fostering a positive workplace culture for its employees. U-Haul prides itself on providing stable career paths and growth opportunities within a supportive team environment. U-Haul is an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status. The company also emphasizes safety and accommodations throughout the employment process to support all applicants.

The role of a Storage Facility Housekeeper at U-Haul involves maintaining the cleanliness and inviting appearance of U-Haul storage facilities. This position is integral in creating a safe and pleasant environment for customers and employees alike. As a Facility Housekeeper, you will be responsible for sweeping, vacuuming, wiping, and mopping storage units, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and other facility areas. The position demands physical activity, including lifting items of at least 50 pounds and working in varied conditions, sometimes involving exposure to fumes or irritant chemicals, necessitating the use of protective gear. U-Haul offers competitive hourly pay ranging between $16.50 and $18.50, making it a lucrative opportunity for individuals looking to start immediately with pay on the first day.

New hires are eligible for bonuses and gain access to numerous employee benefits including life insurance, legal services through MetLaw, auto and home insurance discounts, and corporate discounts on popular products and services like Apple and Dell technology, as well as cell phone plans and hotels. Eligible employees enjoy paid holidays, vacation, sick days, subsidized gym memberships, 401k plans, stock options, comprehensive health care including prescription, dental and vision plans, plus unique offerings like 24-hour pediatric physician access and identity theft protection through LifeLock. U-Haul’s YouMatter Employee Assistance Program provides additional support services promoting employee wellness.
