The Stock/Porter (S/P) role at TGI is integral to the smooth functioning of store operations. This position primarily focuses on efficiently handling inventory tasks such as receiving and stocking products, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the safety of the store environment. Reporting to multiple supervisors including the Director of Operations, General Manager, and Assistant Managers, the Stock/Porter supports daily activities that keep the store running optimally. Responsibilities include unloading supply trucks, moving products to stock rooms and store shelves, and maintaining organization by ensuring all products are labeled and stocked using the FIFO (first in, first out) method. This is essential for reducing waste and maintaining product freshness.

In addition to managing product stock, the Stock/Porter is responsible for thorough cleaning duties. This includes cleaning equipment such as refrigerators, slicers, and grills, as well as utensils and kitchenware. Regular cleaning of floors, walls, windows, and trash disposal ensures a safe and hygienic environment for both employees and customers. Physical demands of the role require the ability to lift and move objects over 40 lbs, bend, twist, and stand for long periods while performing duties.

The Stock/Porter must follow all security and safety procedures while transporting stock and working within the store environment to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety standards. This includes diligent monitoring and reporting of inventory discrepancies or incidents to management promptly. The role requires clear communication skills and the ability to interact constructively with the public and team members, promoting cooperation and assistance whenever needed.
