Job Description
Total Wine & More is a leading retailer specializing in fine wine, spirits, and beer. With a commitment to offering exceptional products and superior customer service, Total Wine & More operates locations across the United States, serving a diverse clientele ranging from casual drinkers to connoisseurs. The company is known for its expansive selection, competitive pricing, and dedicated team members who ensure a positive shopping experience. Total Wine & More prides itself on creating an inclusive work environment that fosters growth, learning, and teamwork. As an employer, the company balances a strong retail presence with an engaging corporate culture aimed at providing excellent career opportunities for its employees.
The role of Store Team Member, internally referred to as Merchandiser, plays a vital part in supporting both in-store and online operations. Whether part-time or full-time, this position primarily focuses on merchandising but may also involve sales, front-end duties, or other responsibilities as needed. Store Team Members are tasked with maximizing product inventory by efficiently processing freight, organizing and distributing stock, pulling and stocking merchandise, building displays and end caps, placing signage, and assisting with digital business operations including order fulfillment and support for in-store and curbside pickup and delivery services. In some cases, driving and making deliveries may also be assigned.
In addition to inventory management, these team members deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, engaging in meaningful conversations to build relationships, and providing detailed product information, particularly about wine, spirits, and beer. Team members participate in ongoing product training to increase their knowledge and stay informed about promotions, advertisements, and loyalty programs. This comprehensive understanding helps maintain a compliant store environment that adheres to all laws and regulations related to alcohol sales.
Safety and cleanliness are also top priorities for the Merchandiser role. Maintaining store safety standards and cleanliness ensures a welcoming and secure shopping environment. The position requires physical capabilities such as lifting heavy cases and pallets, climbing ladders, and standing for extended hours, often in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and comfortable with a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Total Wine & More supports team members with a robust benefits package including paid time off, store discounts, comprehensive healthcare plans covering medical, prescription, dental, and vision needs, 401(k) plans, health savings and flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, pet insurance, accident and critical illness coverage, discounted home and auto insurance, college tuition assistance, and ongoing career development and product training. The company is deeply committed to its Total Rewards program, which provides resources to support health and well-being, promoting a balanced and rewarding work life.
Finally, Total Wine & More values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer. It ensures accommodations throughout the hiring process and maintains a drug-free workplace. Compensation varies based on location, experience, and skills but always meets or exceeds the minimum wage. This extensive and supportive work environment ensures that every team member can contribute meaningfully to the company’s success and enjoy growth opportunities within the organization.
