The Merchandiser role at Total Wine & More plays a crucial part in maintaining the company brand and enhancing the store’s overall customer experience. Merchandise specialists are responsible for optimizing product inventory and facilitating smooth business operation both in-store and through digital channels. Key responsibilities include processing freight, organizing and distributing stock, building displays and end caps, setting signage, and supporting digital order fulfillment including in-store and curbside pickups and deliveries. Some assignments may also require driving and making deliveries.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Walk bend down repeatedly and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day
  • Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs overhead and repeatedly
  • May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday
  • Authorization to work in the country
  • Ability to adhere to store policies and safety regulations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable transportation if delivery duties are assigned

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience with 1+ years in a retail setting preferred
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Maximize product inventory including processing freight organizing and distributing inventory pulling and stocking merchandise building displays and end caps placing signage supporting digital business operations fulfilling orders assisting with in-store and curbside pick-up and delivery services including driving and making deliveries if assigned
  • Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers engaging to build relationships and informing about products and services
  • Participate in wine spirits and beer training to build product knowledge
  • Maintain knowledge of advertisements promotions and loyalty programs
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment
  • Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned
  • Load and deliver orders in a safe and professional manner following company policies and procedures and abiding by all traffic and safety laws if delivery is added as an essential job function
