This role, titled Merchandiser, is a crucial part of the Total Wine & More store team, focusing on merchandising responsibilities and maintaining the store's high standards. These positions are generally available as part-time or full-time, with seasonal roles limited to a maximum of six months and the potential to apply for non-seasonal roles. As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for maximizing product inventory through various activities such as processing freight, organizing merchandise, building displays, and supporting digital business operations like fulfilling online orders and assisting with in-store and curbside pick-up or delivery. In addition to merchandising, team members may take on front-end sales or other duties as needed, providing a well-rounded retail experience.

Customer service is a central aspect of this role. You will greet customers warmly, engage with them to build lasting relationships, and provide personalized assistance by sharing product knowledge about wine, spirits, and beer. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Walk bend down repeatedly and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day
  • Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs overhead and repeatedly
  • May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience 1 or more years of experience in a retail setting preferred
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Maximize product inventory including processing freight organizing and distributing inventory pulling and stocking merchandise building displays and end caps placing signage supporting digital business operations by fulfilling orders and assisting with in-store and curbside pick-up and delivery services including driving and making deliveries if assigned
  • Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers engaging to build relationships and informing about products and services
  • Participate in wine spirits and beer training to build product knowledge
  • Maintain knowledge of advertisements promotions and loyalty programs
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment
  • Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned
  • Load and deliver orders in a safe and professional manner following company policies and procedures and abiding by all traffic and safety laws if delivery is added as an essential job function
