Job Description

The hiring establishment is a dynamic hospitality and food service operation that prioritizes hygiene, safety, and efficiency within its kitchen environment. This company is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in its kitchen and stewarding departments, essential to supporting the smooth operation of culinary services. The business operates in a fast-paced setting where both the cleanliness and timely maintenance of kitchen areas are crucial to overall food safety and quality assurance. Employees who join this team play a critical role in upholding these standards by managing cleaning processes, operating specialized cleaning machinery, and ensuring a sanitary environment that complies with regulatory requirements such as OSHA standards.

The role offered is an integral position within the stewarding department, revolving around maintaining the cleanliness and function of the restaurant or kitchen facility. It is well-suited for individuals who take pride in supporting food service through diligent duties including cleaning, equipment maintenance, and inventory management. An employee in this position will be responsible not only for routine cleaning tasks but also for using appropriate chemicals safely and efficiently, managing supplies critical to daily operations, and operating various cleaning equipment such as dish machines, floor scrubbers, and glass machines. This is a role demanding physical stamina and attention to detail, requiring the individual to engage in tasks such as removing dirty dishes from the cooks' line, restocking clean dishes, and reporting any maintenance issues to supervisors in a timely manner to ensure operational continuity.

This position offers a practical opportunity for those with at least one year of janitorial or kitchen-related experience or equivalent training to contribute meaningfully to the upkeep of a busy kitchen environment. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently within a team setting. Flexibility is essential, as shift work may include nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs. The role calls for individuals ready to perform various physical activities such as lifting, walking, bending, and using dexterous hand motions throughout their shift. In addition to task execution, the position demands an understanding of OSHA regulations and standard safety practices, guaranteeing that all cleaning and maintenance activities comply with established health standards.

The workplace environment comprises varying conditions from indoor to outdoor spaces, with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, and noise—typical of a kitchen or food service operation. Employees must be prepared to work safely in these circumstances and handle equipment responsibly while maintaining communication with fellow team members to ensure a harmonious and efficient work setting. Accommodations may be provided for employees with disabilities, emphasizing this company’s commitment to inclusion and equal opportunity.
