Job Description

Hotel Kansas City is a distinguished hospitality establishment situated in the historic Kansas City Club Building. Since its opening in late 2020, the hotel has set the standard for grand hospitality and has been recognized as one of the "Best New Hotels in the World" by Travel + Leisure. It proudly holds the title of the number one hotel in Kansas City on TripAdvisor, reflecting its exceptional service quality and guest satisfaction. This unique hotel artfully blends Victorian-inspired guest rooms with modern amenities, featuring preserved architectural details such as hand-hewn walnut and stained glass windows. Beyond its 144 exquisite guest rooms, Hotel Kansas City offers the Town Company restaurant, Nighthawk live music cellar cocktail bar, and a lobby lounge and bar designed as communal spaces where locals and guests mingle. The hotel also caters to event-minded guests with 20,000 square feet of meeting space, including historic ballrooms and a 3,000 square foot rooftop event patio. Its central location places it steps away from the city’s vibrant nightlife, diverse dining options, and prominent shopping destinations, making it a preferred choice for both travelers and locals looking for a luxurious yet culturally rich experience.

The Steward/Dishwasher role at Hotel Kansas City is integral to maintaining the high cleanliness standard and smooth operation of the hotel's food and beverage services. This position is responsible for operating pot-washing and dishwashing machines, ensuring that all kitchenware and dishes are cleaned efficiently and to hygiene standards. The steward/dishwasher also plays a crucial part in maintaining a hygienic working environment by performing general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, washing, wiping surfaces, and managing trash disposal. Additionally, this role includes cleaning coolers, freezers, and back hallways, ensuring that all equipment is properly stored and cleaned per the cleaning schedule. The steward must adhere strictly to health, hygiene, and safety regulations, especially when handling hazardous substances. The position involves cooperation with the kitchen staff by maintaining clean china, glasses, and silverware, and assisting with plating and dish preparation as needed. Reporting maintenance or hazard issues promptly to supervisors forms part of the duties, along with performing other tasks assigned by the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage. This role offers an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking to join a world-renowned hotel known for exceptional hospitality and a supportive work environment. With a flexible schedule requirement and a fast-paced work atmosphere, it is a suitable position for motivated individuals eager to contribute to the hotel's success while benefiting from a comprehensive employee benefits package.
