The Steward role at The Belgrove is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and service that distinguish the resort. The Steward is responsible for washing and sanitizing all tableware, pots, pans, and utensils, while ensuring every dish and utensil is properly stocked and stored. This role demands meticulous attention to sanitation and organizational practices to support smooth operations in food and beverage services. The Steward also assists with inventory management of china, glassware, and silverware, and supports the maintenance of kitchen and service areas in a clean and orderly manner.

In addition to technical duties, the Steward embodies the resort's culture by delivering exceptional service to both guests and colleagues with a polished, approachable demeanor. They maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the resort's amenities and special events, providing accurate information to guests, and collaborate professionally with various departments. Safety awareness is paramount in this role, ensuring any safety hazards are promptly reported and addressed to maintain a secure work environment. The Steward is expected to arrive punctually, present themselves professionally, and contribute positively to the resort’s team-oriented atmosphere.

This role offers an hourly pay starting at $17.00 and is ideal for individuals who hold a high school diploma or equivalent, have prior experience in upscale hotel environments, and possess a current food handlers certification. Job Duties

  • Ensures dishes are sanitized and available as needed
  • keeps sanitation solutions up to company codes
  • washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand
  • places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas
  • polishes silver and copper
  • assists in inventory of china, glassware, and silver
  • maintains proper placement and organization of pots, pans, and utensils
  • maintains proper storage of dish dollies, glass racks, and flatware
  • maintains kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition
  • stocks supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators
  • sorts and removes trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
  • works diligently to avoid breakage and loss
  • ensures that all dishes and utensils are properly stocked and stored
  • provides general resort information for guests
  • maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of all resort amenities and special events
  • interacts with resort staff professionally, assisting other departments when necessary
