This part-time non-management position is based in Torrance, California, at 3635 Fashion Way, and is focused on critical food and beverage and culinary support functions. The role offers a competitive hourly wage of $28.22. The shift schedule requires open availability, with a preference for weekend availability to best meet operational needs.
The principal responsibilities for this role include operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashers, hand-washing stations, pot scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. The individual will ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, storage rooms, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment. Responsibilities also entail receiving deliveries, properly storing perishables, rotating stock to maintain freshness, and ensuring that clean dishware is stored in designated areas. The role demands meticulous use of chemical detergents, disinfectants, and rinse agents during the dishwashing process using a three-compartment sink system.
Strong attention to detail is required to inspect, stack, and manage clean and soiled items, sanitize utensils and cutlery, and segregate dirty containers accordingly. Waste management duties include emptying trash bins, maintaining waste disposal areas, recycling cardboard and glass correctly, and using cleaning tools to sweep and mop assigned areas. Safety compliance is mandatory, with an emphasis on adhering to all company policies, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, and completing required safety training and certifications.
Physical stamina and dexterity are essential, as the role entails standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, reaching above the head and below the knees, bending, twisting the waist, pulling, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently. The position also requires effective communication skills and the ability to foster positive working relationships within a team environment to help achieve common goals.
While prior related experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. No educational degree or General Educational Development (GED) certificate is required. Similarly, no supervisory experience, licenses, or certifications are necessary to apply.
