The Steward role at Caesars Entertainment is a vital position within the kitchen and back-of-house operations. This role carries the responsibility of maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across all kitchen areas, including dish stations, storage, banquet support, and equipment. Stewards work closely with supervisory staff to ensure that daily tasks and sanitation protocols are thoroughly followed to meet high standards of safety and operational efficiency. This role demands attention to detail, a strong sense of teamwork, and a commitment to supporting the overall kitchen and service environment. Stewards prepare tableware for washing, manage dishwashing machine operations, clean and store kitchenware, remove refuse, restock coolers and pantries, and sanitize cooking equipment. The position also requires physical stamina given the demands of lifting, constant walking, bending, and handling cleaning chemicals in a fast-paced environment. Compensation is set at 16 dollars per hour, and employment for this position is on an on-call basis, with shift details typically covering the evening hours from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and carry objects weighing up to 75 lbs
  • Position requires 10% standing, 90% walking
  • Requires very frequent bending, pushing, twisting, kneeling, climbing, stooping and reaching overhead
  • Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, aural and visual cues
  • Work involves contact with cleaning solvent and chemicals
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant internal customer contact
  • Must be able to work in areas containing secondary smoke

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Positive attitude and effective teamwork skills
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals
  • Punctual, reliable, and good work ethics
  • Flexible with schedule to work holidays and weekends

Job Duties

  • Prepares tableware for washing, including scraping plates, pre-soaking silver, and placing items in proper racks
  • Sets up dishwashing machine by draining, filling tanks, checking temperatures, and adding detergents
  • Washes dishes, then stacks and stores china in designated kitchen areas
  • Thoroughly cleans dishwashing equipment and work areas
  • Collects soiled pots, washes them, and restacks on shelves
  • Responsible for garbage and refuse removal
  • Mops and sweeps floors
  • Washes walls and ceiling tiles
  • Sanitizes all cooking equipment
  • Stocks coolers, freezers, and pantry with food shipments following FIFO and HACCP guidelines
  • Acts as a role model to other employees and encourages team spirit
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company, and department policies and procedures
  • Completes all other duties as assigned
