The Steward, Utility Steward role at Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is a vital position within the stewarding team, responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization across the hotel's kitchen and dining areas. This position is critical in supporting both daily operations and special events by ensuring that all serviceware, including chinaware, silverware, and cooking utensils, are impeccably cleaned and prepared. The Utility Steward also plays a key role in monitoring stock levels, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting banquet and function services.

Beyond the fundamental duties of cleanliness and organization, the role also involves mentoring new team members and ensuring compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous stewarding or hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning duties including lifting and standing for long periods
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
  • Strong team collaboration skills
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to hotel policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in stewarding or kitchen cleaning preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Keep serviceware spotless by cleaning all chinaware, silverware, and cooking utensils, scrub pots and pans, and burnish silver
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure supplies and equipment are always well stocked and organized for seamless service
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness by performing essential cleaning tasks including mopping and trash removal
  • Support events delivery by preparing and setting up clean serviceware for banquets and functions
  • Train and mentor team members by sharing expertise with new stewards to help strengthen team performance
  • Comply with regulatory standards by maintaining compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations to ensure the highest standards of guest and team member well-being
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organization throughout kitchen and dining areas to support overall hotel operations
